Although the official currency in the Czech Republic is the Czech Koruna (spoken: Crown), in Prague prices are often quoted in Euro and the single currency is accepted throughout the city by bars, hotels, restaurants and merchants. At today’s rate of exchange (July 2011) your British Pound equals 27 Czech Koruna in your pocket, 1 Euro= 24.5 Czech Koruna and 1 Dollar = 17 Czech Koruna.

On purchases however, the rule is reversed and it is better to use your credit card in shops and restaurants.
